Primoco UAV, Czech Manufacturer of Unmanned Aircraft, Acquires Písek Civil Airport

Prague, February 21, 2019 – Primoco UAV, the Czech producer of civilian unmanned aircraft, has signed a purchase contract for the purchase of the private civilian  airport at Písek-Krašovice. Primoco UAV plans to build a new development, production and training centre at the site.

After more than 25 years, aircraft are returning to Písek-Krašovice Airport. From 1965 the airport was used by the army. Initially an Mi-1 and Mi-4 helicopter squadron were based there and later it was the base of the state air defence  using the Tupolev Tu-143 unmanned aircraft. The army shut down the airport in 1995.

The private civilian airport of Písek-Krašovice, ICAO code LKPK-U, is today a general aviation airport with a 600 meters long 16/34 runway.

“Primoco UAV is relocating its aircraft factory to this new location. Last year, when we listed on the Prague Stock Exchange, I promised shareholders that I would look for a suitable site for the further development of the company. Today, I can proudly announce that we have 20 hectares for future development, including a 600 meter long runway,” said Ladislav Semetkovský, CEO.

The Czech company Primoco UAV develops and produces the One 100/150 civilian unmanned aircraft, capable of flying completely independently according to programmed flight plans. The key features of the aircraft are its size, maximum take-off weight of 100/150 kg, 10 hours endurance, 1,500 km range, cruising speed 100-150 km/h, payload of up to 30 kg and fully automatic take-off and landing. The company focuses on civilian applications for the aircraft especially in energy, border and coastal protection, fire monitoring and search and rescue operations.
